How We Got Started
A Legacy of Craftsmanship
In 1979, Mike Padula felt the entrepreneurial pull to build something of his own, distinct from his family’s established machine shop in New Jersey. He packed his essentials, hopped on his motorcycle, and made the life-altering journey to Orlando, Florida. It was here that MP Manufacturing & Design was born. After meeting his wife, Barbara, and settling into their new home, Barbara and Mike worked side-by-side, enjoying two decades of growth in Central Florida. Along the way, Mike’s son, Tony, began working at the shop, learning the trade thoroughly. Then, Mike and Barbara decided it was time for a new chapter. They relocated the business to the scenic Treasure Coast, where it stands today as a hallmark of quality and precision in the machining industry.
In the midst of all these milestones, one element has remained constant: family. From the early days in Orlando, to the current setting, Mike and Barbara kept the business a tight-knit, family-run venture. Sons, sisters, wives, nephews, and even close friends have all been integral parts of MP Manufacturing’s story. Today, the legacy lives on through Tony, who continues to steer MP Manufacturing as a family business—holding dear the values of community, craftsmanship, and the pioneering spirit that brought his father down to Florida all those years ago.
